英國獨立音樂協會宣布了第八屆Women In Music晚會

◎英國獨立音樂協會(AIM)創辦的Women In Music晚會,今年第八屆將於11月30日在倫敦市政廳舉行。該活動受到倫敦市長支持,當天AIM主席兼執行長Alison Wenham將替活動揭開序幕,其後來自音樂產業中不同領域的女性會進行分組討論「我們是否有所進步?」這樣的主題。

◎活動的演講人包括Cooking Vinyl唱片公司的數位部門負責人Sammy Andrews、音樂公關經理Angie Jenkinson、青少年癌症信託基金、嘻哈歌手Amplify Dot、BBC 1xtra電台主持人、Parlophone唱片公司的A&R及CAA英國分公司的負責人Emma Banks。此外還會有兩場對音樂產業中著名女性的訪談。

◎AIM表示性別平等在音樂產業中對每個人都是好事,本活動除了需要女性的參與和支持,更鼓勵歡迎男性前來參加。活動門票目前可在網站上購買,AIM會員票價為30英鎊,非會員則為54英鎊。

AIM’s next event will be its eighth Women In Music evening, taking place at City Hall in London on November 30.

Supported by the Mayor of London, the event has a number of speakers lined up, with more to be announced. The event will begin with opening remarks from AIM Chairman and CEO Alison Wenham, while a panel discussion a panel exploring the career paths of women from several different sectors of the music industry will ask, Are we making progress?

Speakers include Sammy Andrews, head of digital at Cooking Vinyl, Angie Jenkinson, music relations manager, Teenage Cancer Trust (Awarded Campaigner of the Year 2014), Amplify Dot, rapper, BBC 1xtra presenter and A&R at Parlophone, and head of CAA UK Emma Banks.

The evening will also feature two interviews with notable female figures from the music industry, to be revealed in the coming weeks. Previous In Conversation With… sessions at AIM’s Women In Music events have included Sophie Ellis Bextor, Jo Whiley, MOBOs founder Kanya King, Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorne and broadcasting legend Annie Nightingale.

The event will finish with networking drinks, giving attendees the chance to make new contacts over complimentary drinks. AIM actively encourages men to attend this event, noting in the event release that gender equality in the music industry is good for everyone and requires the participation and support of both sexes.
